How To Update Your Domain's Nameservers

If you manage your domain with us and are looking to launch a new website or move the services you may be asked by a new provider to change your nameservers. This change would point the domain to a new host where websites and email DNS records would now be managed.

Use caution changing your nameservers as it will generally point all services to a new provider. Check with them to ensure all the records (email for example) are setup before updating the domain. It also can take hours or up to 24 hours for the changes to become active across the internet.

To update your domain's nameservers, follow the following steps once you are logged into https://myhelpportal.com

  1. Click on Domains > My Domains in the top menu.
  2. Click the edit icon beside the domain which you would like to update (the edit icon looks like a small piece of paper with a green arrow over it)
  3. Scroll down to where it says "Nameservers". Here you can edit the nameserver information.
  4. Once your new nameserver information has been added. Click "save changes"
  5. Once you have saved your changes, you will need to allow 24-48 hours for the change to propagate across the web.
